This body of work is a collection of photographs created since my arrival and settlement in France. It unfolds as a renewed search for myself — shaped by the history, stories and traditions of this place. Altogether, I have spent twenty years away from the country I once called home. This is my second emigration after Scotland. “Home” became less a place and more a dialogue within myself. Re-emigration is not only a crossing of borders, but a layering of identities. Time stretches differently when lived between different languages, landscapes, and memories. Each new beginning carries the echo of the previous departure. To arrive again is to recognize how much of you has already been transformed.
